Thorogood's history dates back to 1892 when Albert H. Weinbrenner, at the age of 27, opened a cobblery in Milwaukee with partner Joseph Peffer, serving "Jobbing" trades. The company has since grown, introducing the "Job-fitted" concept in 1917 and becoming a major contributor of boots to the U.S. Army in WWI. In 1938, Thorogood took its first steps into safety footwear production, and in 1992, celebrated 100 years in business.
